Tension sensors are primarily used in various industries, from small parts to large equipment, including the pharmaceutical industry. A common application is weighing containers such as agitators during processing. So, how should these devices be connected for proper operation? Below are several connection methods for tension sensors.

Clamp-on Connection Method

The tension sensor is connected to a pressure block to measure the tension of the web through a fixed shaft and a moving shaft. Tension sensors are mounted at each end of the frame, with idler rollers supported between two tension sensors. When the tension sensors are mounted at both ends of the frame, the clamp connection allows for easy installation of the idler rollers. This connection allows for adjustment of misalignment between the frame and the idler rollers during machine operation after thermal expansion, and this unique design can also be applied to both the fixed and moving shafts.

In-roller Connection Method

The idler roller connection is directly embedded at both ends of an idler roller, with tension sensors mounted at both ends. Two tension sensors are installed at each end of the idler roller. This in-roller connection uses spherical bearings to smoothly adjust for mismatches between the idler roller rotation and the frame. The in-roller connection method eliminates the need for rolling shafts and bearings in tension sensors, indirectly reducing testing costs.

Roller Connection Method

This type of reel uses simple pattern applications on various materials. Simply connect it to a frame or support to test the tension of the device.
